Excessive Anger

Many people bottle their anger up so that they feel unknown and unheard; conversely, many become inappropriately aggressive when angered, thereby alienating others around them. It's important to figure out how to express anger in a way that's honest but not disproportionate or destructive.

Sometimes anger (or even its milder variant, irritability) is a stand-in for other emotions entirely.

If you find that you are feeling ashamed or frustrated with the way you express your anger, psychotherapy can be a key tool to remediate your difficulties.
